Long Island Puppet Theater
I just came across this place and was added it to my list of possible places for DS' 2nd birthday party (the Sesame street show). Has anyone been to this place recently, whether it is for a party or just a showing? I have read conflicted reviews online.
TIA!

Re: Long Island Puppet Theater
We saw a marionette puppet show there last winter. It was ehhh. I love the puppet theater Goat on a Boat in Sag Harbor. Just went there this weekend and you really can't compare the two. Completely different in presentation.

Thanks for the response. Sometimes you read negative reviews online and you question them. Something tells me these reviews might not be so off.
Sag Harbor is too far for our bday party but it is great to know. We can do a day trip out there this spring. Thanks for the reccommendation!

Re: Long Island Puppet Theater
We went to a party there. It was cute, but we didn't have DD at the time, so as non-parents it wasn't very fun. We couldn't even watch the show. But the kids seemed to love it!

Re: Long Island Puppet Theater
I went to a party there last year. It was just 'ok'. The owners are a husband/wife team. The husband is wonderful....very enthusiastic and the kids loved him. The wife, however, is rude and nasty and honestly looks like she can't stand kids. She is the one that you would be dealing with as far as payment and such. In the end, it is a cute idea but it wasn't what I thought it would be.
(and if you read the reviews about the lady shoving an older woman out of the way at a party, that was my friends review and every bit of it is true.)

Re: Long Island Puppet Theater
My cousin had her DD birthday party there back in February. We went to it and I thought it was great.
It started with a puppet show that the kids all enjoyed. Then they had music and props for the kids to dance around with. There is a little dance floor so the kids all had fun. Then it was time for pizza and cupcakes.
The theme of the party was Pinkalicious so my cousin had a girl come after the kids ate dressed up like Pinkalicious. She read books with the kids and played a couple of games with them.
I thought it was a really great, different party. We've been to so many bounce parties and gymnastic parties lately, this was a nice change.

Re: Long Island Puppet Theater
Thanks for the responses ladies. I am looking for something different, but I am just concerned about the way this place is run, as well as the food since you need to order food through them.

Re: Long Island Puppet Theater
If this is the one in Hicksville, I would steer clear. I went there over February break and it was probably one of the weirdest experiences of my life. The guy freaked me out...totally!
