Any advice-Teeth Related
Hi everyone, my baby girl Cindee (turning 5 in July) is having surgery on Friday to have 22, yes 22 teeth removed.
Any advice for after her surgery? Will she be in much pain? How long will it last?
I feel terrible for her.

poor puppy! Mine has only had 2 out at one time & she was fine. The vet should give you pain meds for her.

As a veterinarian I am curious as to why your dog is having all it's teeth pulled at five years of age. I can't think of anything that would make this appropriate for a dog. Feel free to email me directly at [email protected] if you want to discuss the specifics of this case to be sure before you bring her in tomorrow.

I agree, maybe a second opinion is in order and fast. Seems very extreme for a 5 year old dog.

As it turns out, Cindee is not going in for surgery today.
She has had a reaction to the antibiotic she is on and we have to take her to the vet for another reason.
:(
Please send prayers.

OMG Praying for Poor Cindee to be in the best hands and care there is.. You must be out of your mind .. I know I would be
Just again I was curious why they have to pull ALL her teeth out? Maybe this is a chance to get another opinion.. Good luck in all you do here .. I am thinking about you

That poor baby. I've never heard of a dog who is taken care of needing that many teeth out. What happened to the teeth? What was the reaction to the antibiotics? Is she going to a specialist now? I feel so bad for her. I hope she feels better real soon .

Update on Cindee:
Thanks everyone for your hugs prayers and concern.
Cindee was diagnosed with Collitis.
They believe it was a reaction from the meds in addition to the stress on her body from having blood work done.
She was given another medication and is doing MUCH Better. she is almost back to her old self.
her surgery is on hold until i get at least a 2nd opinion.
