Water for Elephants
Did anyone else not enjoy this book? I just couldn't wait to finish it and thought the ending was just blah.
I didn't see the movie b/c I disliked the book so much.

I liked the book & the ending overall, but thought it was slow at parts. I haven't seen the movie.

I didn't hate it, but I didn't think it was that great. I thought i was the only one. I won't bother to see the movie either.

Same here! It's one of my favorite books.
Without giving away spoilers, I liked that the book kept you guessing about what REALLY happens right until the end. The book gives you a glimpse at the ending right at the start, but it's almost a misrepresentation (at least the way I took it!) With the movie, they don't give you that glimpse into the future, so the ending, while still good, falls flat. I enjoyed the movie, as well, but I always tell everyone to read the book first.

I enjoyed it. I did find the beginning a little slow, but once i got into it, i was hooked. i also enjoyed the movie, but i love reese.

Didn't love the book and didn't love the movie. I found the ending predictable and not worth the effort.

Even though I did like the book, I was disappointed by it. It wasnt as grand as I thought it would be. Some of the scenes regarding Rosie were difficult for me to get through. Maybe b/c I am preggo and super emotional but I actually started crying at one point. I was not upset at the ending, I was happy for him but I can see where other reads might be left "feeling flat".
I have not seen the movie but when its finally on cable I will watch it.
