Re: Online Master's Porgrams??
i don't know about any online masters programs but i know for the professional certification, make sure your masters is in either education or math. a friend of mine got her BA in math and then her MA was just liberal arts with a focus on coaching and that doesn't count for professional certification. she had to then take graduate math classes to satisfy the requirement.

Are you currently teaching? I was able to do my Masters online through SUNY Empire. I already had the certifcation I needed and wanted a Masters in a related field. It wasn't an easy program but well worth the effort. Very reasonably priced- SUNY tuition. Check it out.

Yes, I am teaching now, and God willing, will still be next year.
I am going to look into this! I don't mind if it is difficult, if I can do it on my own time in my own home, and it is priced well, that does it for me!
Thank you!
ETA: I see online it says that the program is online courses paired with OCCASIONAL Weekend Residencies...
did you have to do any of these? If so, what is "occasional?" a weekend per semester? more?
and where were they??
Thanks!

Re: Online Master's Porgrams??
Yes, I did 2 residencies while studying at SUNY Empire. Basically they are weekend classes that begin on Friday evening and end Sunday afternoon. My DH and DD came with me one time, once I went on my own. I really enjoyed them and met some very interesting people. I chose to attend the residencies up in Albany, but they did have them in NYC, so you could commute in each day . The professors were fantastic, and you work closely with a mentor who will guide you through the degree. The flexibility of being able to study and complete assignments when it fit into my schedule was extremely beneficial to my family and I was able to pay for it without going broke.
Good luck- I hope your job will be safe and you find a program that works for you.

do you work in NYC? court street can answer your questions (not the most efficient route, i know, but it works! ...eventually).
