Fire at NCC?
Has anyone heard anything? I saw photos on facebook of dark smoke coming from on or near the campus

its those new apartments they are building there. Really bad fire the smoke was crazy ..We were watching the live feed on News 12 ..Not sure what started it, but being that its still construction maybe electrical?

haha so funny, someone on my newsfeed posted that it was the G building, my coworkers daughter called and said her friend sent her a pic of dark smoke coming from behind G - something about apartments...

I believe its at the Avalon apartments that are being built. News 12 has pictures up on their FB.

Firefighters battle apartment complex blaze in East Garden City
(04/11/12) EAST GARDEN CITY – Firefighters from 10 departments responded to a raging fire at an unoccupied luxury apartment complex in East Garden City.
Officials tell News 12 Long Island that 10 workers were inside at the time putting up sheetrock but did manage to escape.
No one was living in the building at the time of the fire.
The unfinished and now destroyed building is located on Ellington Avenue East just north of Nassau Community College.
News 12 Long Island has learned the site is owned by Avalon Bay.
Officials say one firefighter was injured during the blaze.
