Re: Dept of Maternal-Fetal medicine at Northshore
I went to this practice while I was preggo with ds and Dr Vohra delivered him. I did meet with Dr. Smith-Levitin during my pregnancy but not Dr Rosenberg. Dr Pozharny is nice as well.

I went there. I used Dr. Rochelson and Dr. Pozharny. My circumstances for meeting them were very heartbreaking and I can not say enough good things about them. I also used the center for prenatal dx and they staff there was amazing. You see peoples true colors during a difficult time, and what i experienced was exceptional. Good luck to you!

Re: Dept of Maternal-Fetal medicine at Northshore
I'm sorry but I don't remember who my doctor was, just that she was a woman with dark hair. She was the most MISERABLE, DESPICABLE WOMAN I HAVE EVER MET IN MY ENTIRE LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
When I was having complications in the 2nd trimester with my first pregnancy, I was referred to them for a second opinion. She was just BEYOND AWFUL!!! Of every doctor I have seen thus far, she has the absolute WORST bedside manner I have EVER encountered.

I've been reading some reviews online and it sounds like you may have seen Smith-Levitin. People on diff forums have said she suggested terminating pregnancies that ended up going full-term and being 100% heatlhy. I'm sorry you had such a bad experience and thank you for sharing! I made an appt with Dr. Rosenberg - his reviews online were consistantly good. Just not sure where else to go...I know girls on here have had good experiences with Dr. B but my obgyn strongly advised against him so I'm on the fence. So hard to know what to do....
You asked about a maternal fetal medicine doctor. Dr.B is a reproductive endocrinologist which is a completely different field. He happens to be an excellent doctor.

That's correct - I should have clarified that we're not 100% sure which direction to go in just yet since there are a couple of possibilites regarding the issue. So the conversation was whether to go to maternal-fetal or repro endo.
I'm confused.. I was under the impression the maternal fetal medicine drs are there for you once you are pregnant... The REs help get you there. Regardless, good luck.

If you know you will be high risk once pg (due to medical problems) some doctors suggest you have a consultation with maternal-fetal even before hand, to be prepared. It's uncertain at this point with the medical issues are interfering with ttc...so it may be early to go to an RE. In my case, it's a matter of figuring out which direction to go in first. May not be the same for everyone. A lot of people don't know they have certain medical concerns until ttc without success. I've known for many years and am preparing for the worst, hoping for the best.
Oh I know all about that, unfortunately! I had a consult with a perinatologist before my last pregnancy because I am high risk as soon as I see a double line on an HPT! He didn't get me pregnant though... He worked along with my RE and got familiar with my case so once I was pregnant, it was an easy transition. Unfortunately, that pregnancy didn't work out. I'm in the process of surrogacy. Regardless, I know all about the high risk stuff.. Good luck to you ...

I just started with them and have been happy so far. I met with Dr. Rochelson (briefly - but I liked him a lot! He's the chief)) and I'm seeing Dr. Simmonds now. She is new to the practice (as of Oct I think). Good luck on your journey!
