As per my maternity leave workshop... No outside jobs are permitted. If they catch you, you'll be terminated.

i also recall hearing this, i am currently on childcare and am working f-status which is 3 days a week, so something within the doe part time is allowed,

See this is what they told me, so I didn't work this year. But I know someone who is part of the DOE and working parttime and she looked into the laws and it says you can work under 20 hours a week. You just can't work in a school district.
Because of this, I was planning on taking one more year off and working part time.
So confused..

Working part-time for the DOE is ok... working totally outside the system is not.
I'd call the UFT and ask if it's ok for you to work summer school, b/c depending on your school's program, that might go over the 20-hour limit.
