Ideas for Acknowledging Work Anniversaries
Hi Ladies,
I am pulling together some ideas for acknowledging 5 and 10 year work anniversaries. I am interested in hearing your thoughts. Some of the things we are thinking of: AMEx gift certificates, team parties (theme based on employees' specific likes) and supervisor writing 2-3 paragraphs honoring the employee on the company intranet.
What are some things done at the companies that you work for? What would you like to see on your work anniversary?

Anything sounds good to me as our anniversaries are never acknowledged and I usually have to tell my boss how long I have been at my job.

We do all of the above.
We have a program at my office for all 5-year anniversaries (5, 10, 15 etc.). We get a catalogue of gifts to pick from based on years of service. It's fun but the gift selection isn't great (so far I have picked mantle clock and a bike). If your company isn't large enough to enroll in this kind of program, I think an AMEX gc is perfect - even better probably! We also bring the person out for a lunch or dinner to a restaurant of their choice and they get listed on the company's intranet as celebrating "x" number of years. Again, we just list anyone with a 5-year milestone.

My boss didn't do anything for my 5 year. 5 months later when I quallified for my 3rd week vaca, he said, "Oh yea, you've been here 5 years, you get 3 weeks now"....does that count as acknowledging? 
I think a gift cert and lunch would be nice. Plus if you could put it on the intranet.
