Spotting Mid-Pregnancy...

Hey All,

Have any of you experienced spotting midway through your pregnancy? I'm 24 weeks along with #3, and I noticed bright red blood this morning. Called the doc on call this am, and she said as long as I'm not having cramping, then I shouldn't worry. She said it's not uncommon...

Tonight, I wiped again and noticed some darker colored mucus (sorry tmi), not too much, but still no cramps.

Should I be freaking out here? Is this common? Between my amnio with him two weeks ago and now this, this little boy is giving me gray hairs already...

Thanks,

T

ETA: I have a 2yo and a 3yo... After reading several posts on here, I'm noticing that maybe I'm doing too much with them? How the heck do I avoid picking my kids up when they are this little? I need to be more conscious of this and pick them up less. I'm sure the bleeding has to do with that, right? Chat Icon

Re: Spotting Mid-Pregnancy...

i would ask for another sono. the mucus throws me off and i hope you arent losing any of your mucus plug early.

mid cycle bleeding is normal if you have placenta previa but a sono would be able to tell you that.

if you do have previa its best not to lift heavy objects etc...but i dont have advice bc you have kids kwim?

when is your next sono? i am a pusher and would insist on another for peace of mind but i am sure you are fine!

I agree. I would ask for a sono. I am sure everything is fine but the mucus bothers me as well. Did you lose your mucus plug with your other dc? Does it look like that?

Re: Spotting Mid-Pregnancy...

Hey All,

Thank you for your replies.

Spotting stopped... I didn't end up going for a sonogram; the baby continued his usual activity, and I babied myself by getting off my feet most of the following day. I'm a teacher and I'm in 4 different classrooms this year, plus the fact that I have two very active kids (3yo and 2yo).

I'll just have to be more conscious of getting off my feet more during the day while I'm on break (lol - working) and then when I'm running around all afternoon/night with the kids, hopefully I won't be as shot.

What a scary thing to see spotting at this point in time though!

xoxo, T

so not uncommon. Im still spotting at nearly 28 weeks. Usually ill grab more water and off my feeet.. Sometimes it has nothing to do with that at all.. ivenoticed it more when i "stretch" or the pain associated with. I do not have previa or other issues with my placenta.. good luck and take it easy!1
