Any cyclists here?
What bike would you recommend for a beginner? I'm looking for a bike that would be good for family bike rides and maybe a tri way, way, waaaaay in the future.
Any bike shops you can recommend?
Anything I need to know before I pick a bike?
TIA ladies!

Re: Any cyclists here?
I would recommend a hybrid. These bike combine the best features of mountain bikes and road bikes. Before you by a bike do some research on the styles you are interested in- see what components each model/brand has standard on the bike. The most important part of buying a bike is the test drive. No matter how good a bike looks take it for a ride before you buy it. You need to get a feel for the bike before you commit to it.
Once you find a bike you like make sure to have the staff at the bike shop help you choose the size frame that is the proper size and fit for you.
I do not know where you live but Brands in Wantagh has a large selection of bikes.
