reluctantly posting...

that I'm 12 weeks pregnant. I have mixed emotions over this pregnancy. I feel lucky to even be pregnant, but am still reeling from the loss of my daughter in November. She would have been about 6 weeks old, and all I do is cry when I think about her. I'm so nervous about the upcoming pre-natal tests...the first one being this Thursday.

Anyone who has experienced a late loss and have words of encouragement and reassurance, I'd love to hear your story- if you're willing to share.

I lost my first baby in the 17th week... and though I'm not currently pregnant (nor will I be anytime soon since we have a surrogate, etc) .. I can totally relate to the stress of being pregnant again after a late loss.

I got pregnant multiple times since we lost my first baby and NONE of those pregnancies were like the first.... where there was still innocence in it all ... and life still made perfect sense.

When I got pregnant again, it was definitely harder to connect with the pregnancy as a process that would eventually bring me a baby.

Even now with surrogacy, it's stressful thinking of all the "what ifs" ......... so while I don't have much inspirational advice here, all I CAN say is you have to have faith that late term losses are RARE and this time will be different. I have said that for every one of my pregnancies.... but I still have the hope that one of these times, it will be true and we'll get to take home a living breathing healthy baby.

I know for me, expecting a baby post-loss makes each week a milestone. I just can't wait to get past my 16wk appointment... which is the sono where we got the devastating news nearly 2 years ago.
