If you were to take an admin job?
As a promotion in your district would you be ableto o back in the classroom if the job was then eliminated. Lookin at a new opportunity but nervous bc admin posits are often cut. Any specific laws would be great.

In my district, You would have to give up your tenure. I wouldn't do it in this economy and climate towards teachers personally.

Re: If you were to take an admin job?
In my district it depends on the position; going from teacher to department chair you maintain your tenure and seniority. Going from teacher to AP you would lose both tenure and seniority and could not return to teaching if it didn't work out unless they wanted to re-hire you into that position (and then you'd have to get retenured and start from the bottom seniority wise).

Re: If you were to take an admin job?
Depends on your district.
At mine, all APs, Deans, Principals and K-12 Academic Heads have a different union, different seniority, and different tenure system.
If you are chairperson then you keep your tenure and your seniority.
