Is it normal to not be hungry?
I eat less now than Pre pregnancy. I know I'm supposed to be adding about 300 calories or more for twins but I highly doubt I am. I used to eat sweets but now they don't do anything for me (not that it's healthy calories anyway). I'm not nauseas, just eat a little and get full and have no desire to eat more. I'm overweight so I know I shouldnt gain much but this not being hungry thing is all new to me! Does it only matter that the babies are growing?

Re: Is it normal to not be hungry?
When i was PG with my twins, i wasn't really that hungry until somewhere in my 2nd trimester. Then extreme hunger set in and i would wake up from a dead sleep and head to the kitchen for a snack. In the VERY beginning i was a little hungrier than normal. I;m talking until I was only like 8 or 9 weeks but not starving. Everyone and every pregnancy is different. With this pregnancy, i was hungrier in the 1st trimester, although i had a lot of food aversions, and the halfway into my second trimester i started getting really full really fast and not being that hungry. I;m coming into the 3rd trimester and I get spurts of hunger but still get really full really fast.

Re: Is it normal to not be hungry?
I am almost 33 weeks and I never went through that voracious appetite thing. Now, I get such bad indigestion if I eat too much and I feel full and uncomfortable, that I have no choice but to eat small meals.
The doctor suggested fruit and yogurt smoothies as a healthy way to sneak in more calories. I am going to give it a shot!

Re: Is it normal to not be hungry?
I had no appetite throughout my first trimester and even several weeks into my second trimester. Now I do get really hungry sometimes but I still fill up fast. I was worried that I wasn't gaining enough but my doctor said not to worry because the baby, or babies in your case, are so tiny in early pregnancy that they don't need much and that they will take what they need. He said if anything, I wouldn't be getting enough nutrients but my baby would. He also said I shouldn't try to force myself to eat if I wasn't feeling up to it but that I should take my prenatals daily. Now that I'm further along and my baby is getting bigger I do get hungrier so I guess my LO is letting me know he or she needs more!

Re: Is it normal to not be hungry?
its normal. i went through it with my first and lost weight up until 20 weeks. nothing appealed to me
as long as the babies are measuring according to schedule, there is no issue. take your vitamins and drink plenty of fluids

Re: Is it normal to not be hungry?
I haven't been eating much with this pregnancy. If I eat too much I get sick. But I am constantly eating small meals throughout the day. If I feel hungry I get sick. It's weird. I lost 6lbs in the beginning, and starting to slowly regain my appettite. It stinks though because nothing is really appealing to me, and I know I will get sick soon after. I always have to carry some type of snack in my bag just in case I start getting sick from being hungry.

Re: Is it normal to not be hungry?
I remember thinking it was weird one morning, about 8 months ago , that I couldnt finish my beloved coffee crumb DD muffin. We were actively TTCing so of course, I was on hyper sensitivity mode to any and all possible BFP signs.
Obviously I was right and just now, 30 wks 5 days later, I am starting to get more of an appetite. The worst for me was dinner time. I had no desire to eat anything. I was lucky if I could get a few mouthfuls in. Just pay attention to what your body is telling you.

Re: Is it normal to not be hungry?
The other day I was actually hungry (and I posted about it) and the next day(yesterday) I was back to eating hardly anything. Today is a normal eating day (normal like before I was pregnant).
For the majority of this pregnancy I've little to no appetite (especially when the MS sickness was in full swing). Dr. and sonos say LO is growing perfectly. I wouldn't worry unless the Dr says something.

Re: Is it normal to not be hungry?
my docs all say as long as the baby is measuring correctly, it's all good. the babies will take what they need nutrients-wise.
even though i'm on the gd diet, i haven't found myself hungry at all either. instead, i find myself eating smaller meals, but more often. lots of snacks throughout the day.
it probably evens out and sure seems healthier than binging during every meal.

Re: Is it normal to not be hungry?
In my last preg I lost a lot of weight b/c I was never hungry and got full soooo quickly. This time around I could sit at a buffet for 2 days straight and never stop to take a breath.. lol

Re: Is it normal to not be hungry?
I lost weight when I was pregnant. I was rarely ever hungry and had to force myself to eat some days. Wish that symptom would have stuck around! But yeah, it can be normal.

Re: Is it normal to not be hungry?
although i've been a bit hungrier this week, up until this point, i haven't really wanted to eat. i force myself to, but i still think i'm not really taking in enough calories. prior to being pg, i was running 25-30 miles a week and even though i've had to stop all physical activity, i've only gained like 2 lbs in the last 5 weeks. (i'm almost 11 wks pg now) but, the baby is growing and measuring right, so i'm not too worried. i'm sure i'll get hungrier as the weeks go on.
