Gifts

This is DS's first year in school and I want to get his teacher and TA's something nice. Any ideas besides the usual gift cards? I will also be getting something for the bus driver and matron (I absolutely love them).

Re: Gifts

I ordered them necklaces with a puzzle piece and a charm that says "Hope." I'm also going to get them gift cards. Not sure what I'm going to get the aides.

Re: Gifts

My sister had an assessories party and got them there. If you are on Facebook, look up love and kisses assessories. You may be able to order them from there.

Re: Gifts

Last year we gave beach bags from Lands End or LLBean. I forget which one. They loved them.

This year I think I'm getting the cookie boxes from The Cookie Lady. They are so cute...all school themed cookies in a Thank you box.

I ordered these personalized reusable tumblers for my DD's teachers. I was thinking about getting them for my son's as well, and having her put puzzle pieces on them in multiple colors, as well as the teacher's name. She is very easy to work with.

Re: Gifts

As a teacher of children with autism, I have gotten some amazing gifts over the years but a few have stuck with me.

One of my families bought me a jewelry box that says you are my someone special.

My entire class made me a wood flower pot with flowers on dowels with each of their faces.

Boardmaker makes PECS mugs that say worlds best teachers.

Swarovski also makes some puzzle piece jewelry.

My team would love when we all got food though . I may have been the teacher but my TA's were in there day in and day out and I was so happy when families recognized that. A lot of our families would send it bagel breakfasts or cookie platters for our prep time. It was nice because it gave us a time to sit and just take a breathe. In my classroom we had me and six teacher assistants so it was hard to get each individual person a gift so we really liked the food!

Re: Gifts

Thanks so much for the great ideas. I actually bought lunch for them for teacher appreciation day and they loved it.

I'm going to take some of these ideas for the end of year gifts.
