The veracity in which he's campaigning is kinda annoying.
I think he's too pretty for the role and really too short and lacks the real intensity for it and may be a bit old. I think he wants it so bad because he knows that it's a much sought after role and it could potentially take his career in another direction (ie. other big movie roles). From what I've heard though, they'd rather not put a well-known name in any of the parts and Ian Sommerholder is already pretty well-known thanks to Vampire Diaries.
I'm seriously hoping they don't choose him and lean towards Henry Cavill, who I think is perfect for the part...barring he's actually interested in playing it.

He honestly might not be now that he's Superman.
I think that they're just going to f*ck this whole thing up royally with a movie. I really wish they just would have made an HBO or Showtime series out of this. Maybe then they could have improved on the story and got a little more in depth with it.
That being said, if anyone else besides Henry plays Christian, I doubt I'd be interested in it anyway.

Oh an HBO series would be perfect! Then they could definitely improve upon the story and expand the characters.
I feel like in order to make a movie out of the books, a lot of really good re-writing needs to be done. Now that you mention it though, I think making it into a series would be better than a movie.

When they release as NC-17 some places refuse advertising, refuse to show the movie and ulitmately refuse to sell the DVD. I think they'll bow down and cut it down to a R rating.
IMO it's not worth releasing as a movie unless it's NC-17 or higher.

I totally agree. I love Ian in the Vampire Diaries, but he looks to bad boy. I don't see him as a classy business man. Yes most people would like some unknown actor, but I would prefer someone a little known that would draw in ticket sales. Henry can be both the bad boy or the sexy lost boy. He has the looks, the eyes, the body, can play classy, playful, seductive, in pain & troubled, & would have no problem with the sex scenes (Tudors). It would be crazy for him to get it knowing this was Twilight fanfiction & he was Stephenie Mayers 1st choice for Edward. He is so much more man, he is Christian. His Dunhill ads look like EL James used his look & the commercial as her inspiration. The commercial itself is somewhat a glimpse at the movie. I don't see Ian being able to pull off Christians deeper traumatic scenes believably. Henry can do it all & already has in the shows he has been in.

Henry has been the 1st one I thought of when I started reading. i have been a fan since he was in the Count Of Monte Cristo & watched him in Tudors. Yummy! The only Christian there is. I love Victoria Justice she is beautiful, but I think she is only 17 or 18? Nina Dobrev looks just like her & is 22, but she doesnt have the blue eyes, unless they use the contacts, which sometimes on brown eyes looks pretty weird & scary. I do like Alexandra Daddario, very innocent looking with the brown hair & blue eyes. I think a 25 yr old might be better if the sex scenes are done the way they are suppose to. Maybe someone that age would be more comfortable with those scenes.
