Ivy League School or Harbor Country Day School
Does anybody have feedback on either of these two schools? I posted on School Age Kids and got one very nice FM with info on one school, but I am looking for info on both.

No, for pre-k. I called Laurel Hill, but they are so busy they can't arrange a tour until July 18.

Re: Ivy League School or Harbor Country Day School
This was my child's first year at Harbor. I can't say enough great things about it. When my hunsband and I were researching schools. I visited both Ivy League & Harbor Country. At first I liked them both, but there was something about Harbor that I liked a lot better. Then when I started talking to other parents and seeing the way the children and the staff worked together. We new that we had to send our daughter to Harbor. Now going through the first year my husband and I are so happy we made this decision. Ivy League is nice but keep in mind it's a camp that became a school. Harbor has a long history and the new head of school is wonderful. Jim Young is very well educated and experienced in running a school. He has great plans. My vote is for Harbor - based on person experience.

Re: Ivy League School or Harbor Country Day School
We have been at Harbor for several years, and I highly recommend it. The faculty are wonderful and easily accessible; they really care about the kids. The curriculum is strong, with terrific academics as well as art, music, foreign language, and a host of other things other local schools don't offer (or are cutting back on) for elementary school. Harbor is an independent school (and therefore not-for-profit).

Re: Ivy League School or Harbor Country Day School
I know 3 kids who currently go to Ivy League. Both are very happy with the programs, say that camp is over the top wonderful. Happy with the teachers (I actually was in a mommy & me with an Ivy League 3yo teacher and she had very positive things to say) My neighbors went there for elementary school and were happy.
The only negative I have heard is that one friend signed her DC up there on recommendations when she moved to Smithtown and she said for what she paid she felt she expected more.
