What could this be - fever followed by red bumps on arms?
DH already went to work so he can't look at it.
3yo DS was not feeling well for the past 2 days. He had a fever, threw up once (not sure if it was related or he just coughed and threw up), and now has these little red bumps on his arms. I'm not sure if the fever, throwing up once and red bumps are related.
I called DH in a panic thinking DS had chicken pox. Apparently they get vaccinated for that now and kids no longer get them.
3yo DS seems comfortable. No fever and his bumps are not bothering him.

DS could absolutely still have the chicken pox. The vaccination is not 100% effective, and I believe in most cases it will just lessen the severity of an outbreak.

Could be coxsackie, it's def been going around.
DD just had it over the weekend.
ETA - DD didn't get the rash until after her fever broke.

Really sounds like coxsackie! The twins had it a few weeks ago and DD had the red bumps on her arms, feet and legs. DS got a few red bumps on his feet and that's it. It's been going around.

I would say coxsackie too. Check his hands and feet for blisters. When DS had this last year, I first noticed spots on his legs and then saw that they were on his hands and feet too.
Chicken Pox generally start on the trunk of the body and the spots start along with the other symptoms.

I think it could be coxsackie.
Hope this is the end of it.
I gave tylenol to DS 2 nights ago and his fever seems to be gone. I only had to give him t ylenol once.

Sounds like Coxsackie to me. These were DS' symptoms (excluding the throwing up) when he had it last year.

DH thinks DS got it at Sesame Place. DH wants every excuse never to go back to Sesame Place.

He may be right. Remind him that he wants to boost his kid's immunity. :)

It's very common to hear of people coming back from there with coxsackie.

If its a rash, I would say fifths rather then coxsackie. My kids had both. DD had the same symptoms as your DS and was confirmed fifths. DS had coxsackie, fever..no rash, but blisters on his hands after the fever broke.

They are bumps, almost looks like he got bitten by bugs.
He is comfortable so I am hoping the bumps go away soon. DH told me not to put anything on the bumps.
