Finally...got a "real" job!
So after making the transition to start a new career in the end of 2007...working multiple part time jobs from Oct 2008-now...I finally will be starting my "dream" job in August down in VA. The next few months will be a rough transition because I will be away for training, moving and DH will still be up in NY for awhile but I am sooooo excited to finally be doing what I want, have a salary & benefits again! Hoping DH will find a FT job as well down there (he's been consulting since he was laid off in 2006). You have no idea how many jobs I applied to...how many tests, interviews, paperwork,etc I went through...but it has finally paid off! Stay positive everyone...it does eventually happen. Good luck to all still looking...i know how hard it is!!!

Best of luck to you and your DH. What part of VA? I have a friend who relocated to the Richmond area recently for work and it seems like the market is decent down there. COL is also so much better!!

We'll be staying with SIL for now in Vienna...traffic & COL similar to NY unfortunately..haha. But when we can afford to buy i hope to live further south maybe.
