swimming

I am about 5 weeks pregnant. I had a 5DT on June 18th. I am going for my first sono next week. Does anyone know when we are allowed to swim? This heat is terrible!!! I'll ask next week, but just trying to get some answers!

Thanks!

Re: swimming

If you're high risk, ask your OB or your Peri. I know Kofinas has a different opinion on swimming in chlorinated waters.

I'm assuming that means he's against swimming in chlorinated pools?

Was thinking of joining the town pool, but that's a concern of mine.

OB said it was fine, but I don't get the feeling that most doctors take chemical exposure into account.

Could you tell me more about Kofinas' opinion, please?

Thank you!!

I would heir on the side of caution and wait it out...stay in the AC or just carry around a spray water bottle... My Dr. suggested no baths from ER to 2 weeks after confirmed beta (6 weeks prego). Im curious what your dr. said too, please keep us updated...everyones dr. has different opinions on this im sure.

Did you end up seeing a Peri? I don't know whether general advice is given or it's a case by case basis but yes it comes down to the chlorine/chemical levels. Personally, I wouldn't swim in a town pool (when pregnant) just too many germs in general. If you can smell the chlorine, I think it's too much normally so now, I wouldn't. (But, I also have a ton of issues! So maybe go by what your Dr. says) Chat Icon
