If you do not order school supplies thru your PTA...
where do you purchase low cost supplies? Online, grocery stores, pharmacies, target, walmart?

If you do not order school supplies thru your PTA...
I find Walmart to have the lowest cost for school supplies. I typically buy them in early August when they have their sales. They dont always have the best selection so we get the rest at Staples if needed.

Target when they first put there stuff out and then Staples also I find has great prices.

last year, Target had the best sales and i was able to get everything i needed i went mid aug...walmart didnt have everything i needed.

i have to agree with target! They usually have the best selection. Staples is usually a mad house around back to school time!

Last year was mostly target and staples
never got to walmart, maybe this year I might check them out
let me know when glue sticks go on sale!!!

Target for sure! They have the name brands at cheap prices. There stuff is always organized, and in the correct spots too. Walmart always sells out of the Crayola, etc. FAST! and I don't like those Ross Art crayons.

I just stocked up at Target on Thursday. The Crayola crayons are .50 a pack, 2 packs of Elmer Glue sticks are .50 (they have a larger pack, but it comes out to be more than .50 a stick). The Composition notebooks are .50, large packs of pencils $1.12 (and they are the kind with the good erasers that don't smear when you erase).

Went to Walmart this morning and they had the same prices so I bought some stuff (unfortunately I didn't have my supply list with me.)

Target always has a great school supply sale over the summer. We get the essentials at that time...things they always ask for like glue sticks, crayons, markers, folders, pencils, etc.
Then in August when we get specific lists from the teachers, we shop around for the best deal on the other things that we need.

TRU is having a lot of nice sales - buy 1 crayon, get 2 free - so crayons worked out to about 40cents a pack.
They also had Buy 1, get 50% off on things like glue, scissors.
Office Max has 4-packs of glue sticks on sale this week for a quarter, but it's limit 3, so DD is getting on another line with more for herself
