Middle School Special Ed.
Can you please share ideas for modifying curriculum in the content areas for an inclusion classroom?

I never taught inclusion, only self contained. However, here are some things I did (this was 2 years ago so its pretty much all from memory):
-Vocabulary. I would underline new words and define them on the side of worksheets. -High interest/low level reading. I actually sat and wrote my own worksheets. It's very time consuming, but I found most pre-prepared worksheets are boring and difficult to understand. -Graphic organizers. I love them a little too much. But they are so helpful for my LD students who have difficulty organizing information.
Not sure what subjects you are teaching- I did ELA and S.S so it was a lot of reading and vocab. For tests, since I was in a self-contained class they were already modified. But you can always modify tests by changing and/or defining vocabulary words, giving less choices (for multiple choice or matching tests), etc.
