I could be wrong on this but Asperger's isn't diagnosed until a child is 5-6 years old (at least this was the case for my Aspie nephew).
Where did she get her diagnosis from? Your district can give you a diagnosis if they have a licensed psychologist do it.

Yes that's why they put her under PDD-nos but they wrote strong indication of aspergers....wasn't sure if PDD-nos is classified as disability but doc wants me to revisit district. She saw developmental ped

Formal Diagnosis and revising IEP

PDD-nos is on the autism spectrum. Did your ped not know that PDD was considered autistic as well? In most cases they do not diagnose Aspergers until they are between 5-7. Just call your district and tell them you need to hold another meeting to review your doctor's findings. Make sure you have your written diagnosis from the doc when you have the meeting.

She told me diagnosis but said on spectrum.... She thinks she will go on to be classified as aspergers someday but as you mentioned she's 3.5 and I took that gillians test and some of it just doesn't pertain to her yet.... Her teachers filled it out and she came in borderline....just want her to get all the help possible! Thanks so much for the replies so far!

I am almost positive at CPSE all children are labeled "preschooler with a disability" they don't need official Dx. Thy look for areas where there are difficiencies and provide services to help bridge those gaps.

Even at the CSE level, I think both would fit into Multiple Disabilities.

Yup, just checked my sons IEP and it just states that. (he's 4 w/PDD-NOS and no where does it state that)
My 7 year old states Autistic.

Re: Formal Diagnosis and revising IEP

Doc said she needs additional services, guess I was hoping a diagnosis might get her more. Doc wrote a letter stating the addtl services she would befit from? Will having diagnosis help my cause or not really?

Re: Formal Diagnosis and revising IEP

My experience is that having a diagnosis definitely helped in getting additional services. It sounds like her diagnosis is PDD-NOS, and in CPSE she will be labelled "preschooler with a disability" and once she gets to CSE if they still think the diagnosis is the same, she will be most likely be labelled as a student with autism.

And yes, you should request another meeting with the district so you can set up services ASAP. CPSE therapists try to schedule themselves for the school year, so some book up by September.

It's not necessarily true that all CPSE are labeled as "preschooler with a disability". If you have a licensed psychologist deem your child PDD-NOS, the diagnosis of autism may appear on the IEP at the CPSE level.
My daughter was diagnosed as PDD-NOS at age 3.5 by both the school psychologist and a private neuropsychologist. Her IEP has always stated "autism". In my personal experience, the diagnosis has helped her receive more services. If you have a formal diagnosis from a doctor, then you should definitely go to the district again with that. It really might help!

For more clarification, the NYS site has this:

"In order to be eligible, a child must have a disability that affects his or her ability to learn. In New York State, a child ages 3-5, may be identified as a "preschool student with a disability" if the CPSE identifies the child as having a disability because of mental, physical or emotional reasons. Some preschool children may be identified as having autism, deafness, deaf-blindness, hearing impairment, orthopedic impairment, other health impairment, traumatic brain injury or visual impairment. "
