Question about method used to send resume..
If a job posting gives you 2 ways to send your cover letter and resume (email and regular mail or fax and regular mail) do you send it one way or both?

Re: Question about method used to send resume..
If it's something I am very serious about, I will mail.
I feel that the person on the receiving end will take more time to look at it that way.
If you get an email it's too easy to click delete and a fax, to get lost in the midst of others.

I would choose email because it's faster...don't want to risk having a better applicants resume get across the hiring managers desk before yours..

I agree. If you're going the email route I would also change your word document into a PDF so things cannot get altered by accident.

Absolutely email. You want it on the recruiter's desk ASAP.
When I'm hiring I read resumes usually as they come in. If I'm really excited about a candidate, I will go forward with that person. if I've already set up or had an interview with someone else, they're furhter up in my mind than the one I'm just getting 3 days later. JMO.

Re: Question about method used to send resume..
I'm a recruiter and I prefer getting it by email. I don't request that they mail it in my ads though.
Plus, like the PP said, you want it on my desk ASAP. If it's a job I'm looking to fill quickly by time I get it in the mail I've already started setting up interviews. When I post an ad in the AM I already have a lot of resumes by time I get back from lunch.
