Any experience with care.com or sitter city
We've used sittercity. I posted a job ad and let people respond to me. I would email back and forth to get a sense if they were really interested. Then meet. Ask for references. Call the references with premade questions.

Re: Any experience with care.com or sitter city
I had a part time employee who did outside work through sitter city. She relocated out of the area but to get someone like her as a babysitter would have been worth it. I don't think that a lot of new people join as caregivers very often but I may use it for an after school sitter. I'm not crazy about the aftercare program options in my area, plus my son will be exhausted after school this year and I would love for him to come home.

we used sittercity and found our amazing nanny there. she is so wonderful and such a part of our family.
we ended up deciding we waned someone college educated and it was nice that you could limit the search tot hat - we posted adds and looked through the responses
our first was ok and probably good by a lot of people's standards but she was a little ditzy so we went back and looked a second time and limited to college educated and found the perfect person for our family
