Bye Bye WW...hello, MyFitnessApp
I'm glad I learned about this...and free?!?! I just canceled WW.
I'm sure I will have questions, just a big thanks to those who shared this.

CNC you are going to love it! It's so easy to use, has almost every food imaginable, and tracks your weight and macronutrients too.

Re: Bye Bye WW...hello, MyFitnessApp
I started this today as well. Pretty easy and I am shocked at how many foods they have in their system. Just checking though. They have me at a 1200 calorie a day diet. Did they figure this according to my stats? Also I did kickboxing for an hour today and it says I burned 600 + calories and then they added 600 + to my daily calorie intake. Is that right? Whatever I burn I get added on? Sorry for the dumb questions!

1200 cal is the lowest anyone will be at - lower than that and your body might go into starvation mode. Your daily calorie goal is figured out based on your weight and what you want to lose per week. Someone who is very overweight will have a higher daily goal.
And yes, if you exercise you "earn" those extra calories to eat, so you never go below 1200 net. I don't usually eat all my exercise calories though.

What she said
Yes, if you burn 600 calories and your goal is to be at net 1200, you can eat 1800 calories that day.

Re: Bye Bye WW...hello, MyFitnessApp
Awesome, thanks for walking me through this lol! I am curious why my calorie count is only 1200 if I want to lose a good amount of weight (40-50 lbs.) I'm not complaining at all since I will typically get the extra exercise calories.

Re: Bye Bye WW...hello, MyFitnessApp
If you eat less than 1200 net calories a day your body can go into starvation mode and actually slow down your metabolism. Lower than 1200 calories a day is really not healthy.

Oh yes, I get that, I was just thinking I would actually be allotted more than 1200 based on my weight. Anyway, it worked out great today, pretty excited about it!

Bye Bye WW...hello, MyFitnessApp
I'm running parallel WW & this through the end of July (just started this week) and it's kinds freaking me out to see how much SUGAR I consume (on myfitnesspal) while still staying in my points range on WW. And actually how few calories I seem to be eating at 26 points.

That's probably because fruit is "free" on WW

There's a barcode scanner too? I'm going to download that right now.

Re: Bye Bye WW...hello, MyFitnessApp
I joined after reading your post and got rid of WW as well. I'm seeing a difference already in my weight and how I eat. Not having fruit be free like it is on WW is helping I think. Thank you!

THIS!
At the recommendation of my trainer, I made the switch when I started plateauing on WW after I hit 20lbs gone. It was truly eyeopening, and once I started using the app, the weight started falling off again. I'm currently down 45lbs with another 25 to go until my goal.
