I love Stephen King, Dean Koontz, Peter Straub... any recs for a book that scared you and gave you nightmares???

There were parts of the Game of Thrones series that gave me nightmares. A particular scene in Dance of Dragons in particular.
Have you ever read anything by Robert MacCammon? If not, I HIGHLY recommend Boy's Life and Swan Song.

I thought "The Strain" by Guillermo Del Toro and Chuck Hogan was pretty creepy. And I've never really been scared by a book, grossed out but not really scared. It's a vampire trilogy (though no sparkling or love bites), but blurb for the first book intrigued me.

The Descent by Jeff Long
they made a really cheesy movie with the same name that had nothing to do with the book
But this book scared the living crap out of me!

I read "The Strain" and it was great. Because it was written by Guillermo Del Toro, it reads like a movie so it's fast and I felt like there wasn't so much filler that other books give you. It was an interesting take on the vampire thing.
