Spent about $1000 in vet visits and finally we figured out

my pup is allergic to her dog food. At least thats what weve narrowed this down to. My Golden is 3 years old and Ive had her since she was a couple months old. Weve switched dog foods a few times with no trouble at all. I saw the new Rachel Ray a couple months ago and corn isnt mentioned until the 4th ingredient so I thought it might be better than most others.

Anyway, he had an oozing rash on his cheek. We shaved it, I washed it daily with a special wash, sprayed special meds on it and gave him antibiotics and meds every day. He also had to wear the cone of shame. Then we went back and he had one on his leg like 2 weeks later! Same meds etc, that got better and now today his tail!!! My goldens tail had to be shaved except for the very end, which looks very funny. So were doing the same treatment and hoping with new food he might get better.

Itd be good to know what he was allergic to exactly. Nothing else has changed.

Suggestions on a good food that isnt the most expensive either. Id prefer something I could buy in a huge bag, like at BJs or Sams.

My dog is allergic to wheat and corn. I am currently feeding him Solid Gold Wolf King. In the past I have used Wellness Simple and Blue Basics by Blue Buffalo. My dog gets bored of his food so I have to occasionally switch it. They all cost about the same and they are not cheap but my dog is healthy and we have eliminated the frequent trips to the vet.

DId the vet do an allergy test on your dog? My parents dog is literally allergic to everything so there isn't much they can do for her, but a test would help determine where her problem is coming from.
