DD's 7th Birthday party HELP ME!!!
Ok ladies I NEED your help!!
DD has never had a birthday party with her school friends. She is at the end of September and when we moved out here when she started kindergarten she had no friends in the neighborhood. Last year I wanted to do something but it didn't work. I HAVE to throw her one this year!!!
Need some ideas of what to do. Bounce and gymnastics places have been done so much...bowling and skating overdone...and while she is a diva, she has quite a few male friends that she is close with and wouldn't want to exclude so those girly spa parties are out. One of her friends from first grade had a party that was like a mini club...they had a DJ and all the kids hit the dance floor and had a ball. Would it be terrible if I did that?
Some of the other things that I thought about doing was having a kids murder mystery lunch (geared to the 6-9 age group), a Fear Factor party (but it seems like quite a lot of work), a Fashion party where all the kids come dressed up and we do a catwalk where they can parade around, and the last was a masquerade party where I can put a cut out of a mask in the invite and each kid can color and decorate their own before the party and come wearing it (which would be done at the 'club' setting. Or any ideas that would make the 'club' party different??
THANKS SO MUCH IN ADVANCE!!!

DS went to a Hollywood Oscar Party. They were to dress in a costume or like they were going to the red carpet.
I have to say though - DS had a laser tag party and the girls were equally excited as the boys. And so were the fathers of the girls.

Movie party? SOmeone else just posted something about it.
That is a great time of year. Have it in the evening, rent a projector, hang a white sheet in your backyard. Setup a concession stand area. YOu could have a hollywood stars with each kid's name on a star-or, even better, they can do their handprints in cement stepping stones like celebrities do onthe walk of fame. http://media-cache-ec5.pinterest.com/upload/193865958929558459_Qja652N4_c.jpg

Re: DD's 7th Birthday party HELP ME!!!
we did a traditional birthday party for DS's party and the kids had a blast. They played freeze dance (one of the biggest hits), had a pinata, tied powdered donuts on strings and hung them from the ceiling - they had to eat them with no hands (it was hilarious), played musical chairs, opened presents, ate pizza and cake. The kids had so much fun and it was easy and inexpensive!

I had Captain Jacks fire brigade come out to my house and to be honest - it was so much better than I thought it would be. The kids got to climb on top of the firetruck. There was water flying everywhere. The kids LOVED it.
