Which hospital?
After many recc. from friends and LIF (Lol), I have narrowed down my gallbladder surgery to two docs. Both come highly recc. only difference is hospital..
1. Dr. Halpern - Winthrop
2. Dr. Rubach (Part of Dr. Denoto Group) - St. Francis
Any thoughts? Thanks.

Re: Which hospital?
I can highly recommend Dr. Halpern (and his associates). My GI put it this way: if she had to have the surgery, he would be the man to do it. I was very pleased with the professionalism of the Winthrop ambulatory surgery nurses as well.
Good luck!

Re: Which hospital?
St. Francis. I've had surgery there, as well as both my parents and the level of care can't be beat. All my docs are affiliated with St. Francis.

Used to work at Winthrop so I will have to recommend that hospital.
Good Luck whichever you decide!

Re: Which hospital?
my sister had her gall bladder removed last year by dr. halpern. in and out in 8 hours (literally). no overnight stay required.
my mom had her appendix removed by him and 2008. my DH needed his appendix removed last summer and we tried to use him but we got one of his associates instead. i can't remember the name.
GL!
