New job/pregnant

I recently graduated nursing school & pass my boards. I was offered and accepted a new postion as a nurse and start my in classroom training on August 13. I am currently 21 weeks pregnant and due 12/12. I have not told my new job that I am pregnant yet and was planning on waiting until September; so my question is, is this okay to do?
Any input would be appreciated!

Re: New job/pregnant

I think you should just be honest.

God forbid something happens and you need to take time off, I would think they would be more understanding then.

I got pregnant within the first fews months of being at my agency too, so I know it's a scary convo to have.

Absolutely tell them, sooner rather than later.

I started a new job when I was 9 wks PG - I waited until I was 12 wks to tell them.

My boss is amazing and his only concern was if I was not going to return to let him know ASAP.

I would tell them asap. There's certain precautions that may need to be taken (especially if you're going to be at the hospital) and they may also need to alter your orientation program. Many times, the orientation is roughly 8-12 weeks long for a new grad- which means you might be delivering very soon after you finish your orientation- without really even having any time to get to the floor and apply that knowledge. But you really should tell them right away so they know what they're dealing with and how they should proceed

That’s great it is always to be honest in such cases, now you must feel free and stay happy. Take care.
