What do you think of the name Lark for a  ?
What is your immediate reaction when you hear it?
I'm guessing most people will hate it, but I'd like to pick your brain as to why? lol - Thanks ladies

I answered it's ok. But as a mom of a son with an unusual name, I will say, it is your child, do what you want.
When someone asks me how we chose our son's name, I said it was like finding my wedding gown, I just knew it when I found it.

i seriously dislike it. it doesn't sound like a name. in fact it reminds me of the saying "done on a lark" which means like something one as a joke. it also reminds me of the bird.

im not a fan...esp for a girl. if anything i think it is more masculine...but even for a boy i would vote against it.

I love it!! It's my grandmothers maiden name and we thought about naming our baby that but my last name is a Spanish name and didn't think they sounded good together. I think it's beautiful!

I'm all for unique names and such, but Lark sounds harsh to me for a girl. Maybe for a boy, but I don't know it's not like a "pretty" name to me.
Perhaps if you love it you can use it as a middle name... or if there is a longer name that it can be made into a nickname from, this way your child will have a choice.

Too masculine for a girl, IMO. For a boy, I guess it would be okay if you want a super unusual name.

Different names always illicit love or hate, so if YOU love it, go for it! Commonly used names rarely get the love or hate reaction bc we are all used to hearing them. Personally I like it!

Makes me think of the actress who played Lisa on Saved by the Bell. Lark Voorhes or something (not sure how to spell her last name). Definitely unique, but not unheard of.

Not particulary a name I would choose but it made me think of Lark who played Lisa on Saved by the Bell! Her name fits her.
It's not bad; just not a fan of it.

i think of a bird too and while that's a pretty idea for a girl, I don't like how "lark" sounds phonetically. It just has a harsh sound that like pp said, sounds more masculine if anything.
