first ob visit
I went for my first visit and I thought I should be 7w2d and the baby measured 5w4d with a heart rate of 148. My doctor is having me come back next week and didnt seem really concerned. Has anyone experienced being 9 days off in teh beginning and everything turning out to be fine? TIA

No experience with the baby measuring off like that, but from other experiences and what i know it is possible for dates to be off due to later ovulation then originally thought, as well as late implantation. When was the first day of your last period? Do you have a steady cycle? Also, are you sure the dr didnt say 6w 4d? There typically isnt a heartbeat until 6 weeks and 148 is very good. What due date did they give you?
Honestly, i wouldnt be concerned at this point. Relax and stay hydrated and look forward to seeing your little bean again!!

Re: first ob visit
I would confirm with your doctor on what he/she said you are measuring, because at 5w4d you normally wouldn't be able to see a heartbeat to get a heartbeat rate. I have a feeling your doctor may have said 6 weeks and a few days so I would call and confirm.

This is exactly what I was going to say. 5w4d is REALLY early to have a heartbeat. In fact, at 5w you would probably only see a yolk sac, MAYBE a fetal pole. I'd try to get more info from the dr.
ETA: Even if you could see a HB, 148 is really fast for so early along. It usually starts slower and speeds up.

Re: first ob visit
Thanks for the replies. I spoke with the dr after the sono and she said she wasnt concerned with the measurements as being so small any movement could of set the measurements off. She said the heartbeat looked great. I'm jsut concerned of it being so off. I don't know when I ovulated because I have an irregular cyle. Usually 35-37 days. Thanks just trying to stay positive!

5w 4d still sounds silly to me if you saw such a strong heartbeat. it sounds like the measurements were definitely off.

Do you have a printout of the sonogram? I know on mine, it has how far along I am on it.

Re: first ob visit
This same exact thing happened to me. I thought I should have been around 7w and I was measuring right where you were with a heart beat. I kept saying to my DH I really don't feel like its right and I never believed the due date the sono was giving me...well long story short I was 3 weeks early but I think it has to do with the original date always being wrong. Go with your guy. Its great to have such a strong heart beat! I think you are fine!
