Advice on how to deal with coworker
I work in a small office and one of my coworkers disappears for an average of 4 hours each day. In addition to taking a 2 hour lunch each day, he takes multiple "breaks" throughout the day.
Neither of my bosses are aware of the problem, but essentially everyone else in the office is. It's making people mad that someone is blatantly taking advantage of a loose office policy, where people can pretty much freely come and go - with the understanding that if you're leaving for extended periods of time, it is for important meetings. It gets particularly bad when both of my bosses are out. The secretaries have access to his calendar and when he is out, it is NOT for meetings.
My question is do I bring this "issue" to the attention of my boss/bosses or do i just stay out of it? This person's actions really dont affect me but it does bother me that he is being completly disrespectful.
Your thoughts/comments are appreciated!

Re: Advice on how to deal with coworker
Does he do web design work? If so, we put him on notice & then he got another job
I'm in a different situation because I'm in HR, so I'd have to say something to my manager & the employee.
Even though it doesn't affect your work, it is affecting morale, which affects everyone. I would encourage anyone who was complaining to speak up to their manager about the issue. If you feel comfortable, I'd say something to my boss. I'm surprised the secretary that manages his calendar hasn't said anything yet.

If it doesn't directly impact your workload, I wouldn't say anything...but eventually it will catch up to him.

This. Having worked in a supervisory role myself, those in charge tend to know who is pulling their weight & who isn't.
On the flip side too, I also work in a small office.
Not to sound snarky, but those who are in a very different role than myself/some of the case management staff are frequently jealous because we don't have to be in the office so they will make drama out of it.
What they fail to realize however, is that we are very often in the field with clients, or doing work someplace quiet because we can't get work done around THEM.

Thanks for the feedback. I do agree that it will eventually catch up with him and I probably dont need to say anything. Another part of me thinks that maybe he's on drugs. Disappearing for 20-30 mins every 10 to 15 minutes?? What is up with that?!

Re: Advice on how to deal with coworker
Not saying you are doing this, but I'd be very careful. This is how rumors start. I see it constantly working in an all female office and it makes things very uncomfortable. And leads to people working out of the office MORE, and then more rumors starting.
In all fairness, I work with a dude who has similar behavior and it has already caught up with him. But I really have just started to avoid him altogether.
It's not worth my energy. If anything comes up because of one of his clients, I just CC my boss at that point so I know it will be followed up on. (Moreso for the client's sake. Not to be personal with the guy).
