I just saw on the Iowa list that "Security" is one of the top girls names, though. Is it just me or is that weird?
Do you have any letters you want to use to honor family members? Any sort of feeling about names you do like or dislike? (Popularity-wise, or origin-wise?)
Our DD is Megan. We like traditional names that you know the baby's gender and are decently easy to spell. We also like that it's kinda an Irish name (even though we're not Irish). It was SUPER popular about 10-15 years but isn't anymore, which we also like. We're thinking of a similar boy's name for DS.

Thanks for the help. We don't need to honor any family members, however our last name is a bit complicated and never easy for people to pronounce. So, we want a more simple first name to balance it out!
I do have an affinity to names that end with either "Y" or the "eeeee" sound. i.e. Lily or Chloe. I also happen to really like my middle name - Alana. Would it be weird to name my daughter with my middle name? Maybe that needs it's own post

I think Alana is a beautiful name and it's not weird to name your daughter your middle name if you love it! Definitely discuss it with your husband.  Have fun naming!
Our friend just named their daughter Aubrey. Very pretty! I like Audrey (more classic) too. My favorite "trendy-ish" name is Ashlynn. I just love Lynn names like Joselyn.

Do you like trendy? ethnic? gender-neutral? classic?
I always wrote names out, to see how it would look on a resume. I have a friend that puts Dr. in front of the name to make sure it "goes"
