Brand of cat food
Hi, I don't post on here alot but I have a question about cat food.
We just took in a stray kitten I was very hesitant at first but I could not be happier she is the best. Her name is Lily. I wanted to feed her what I though was the the best or what people tell me. I started her on Wellnes wet,she did not really eat it.So I tried Natural Balance and Science Diet, same thing she would eat a little then cry for something else. I tried Fancy Feast and she loved it but everyone is telling me its not good to give her. My vet said it was okay as long as she eats wet not dry.
What is a good brand to give her,any suggestions.

Re: Brand of cat food
How old is she? Im going to see a 6 week old kitten tomorrow. An older lady who takes in feral cats, fixes them and releases feral cats outside her home said this little kitty was without a mommy somehow. Shes looking to rehome it. Im not sure what to feed it either, but Im going to bring her to the vet Monday if I decide to take her.

Re: Brand of cat food
She is 8 weeks old,we found her outside of my house without her mother in sight. I took her to the Forest Hills cat hospital, the vet said any food was OK as long as it was wet. But I'm getting so many mixed opinions and I want to feed her the right thing but she turns up her nose to the good stuff.
6 weeks old, how cute she must be.Good luck, I bet it will be love at first sight!

What type of food is she not eating (ie shredded, patte, meaty bits)? Only reason I ask is all 3 of my cats will never touch patte. I've tried all of the brands, and realized it was the way the food was prepared. They will eat shredded, but prefer meaty bits- I guess they like texture verses mashed.

Re: Brand of cat food
She won't touch the patte, she will nibble on the bits but won't eat to much. The only brand she will eat is the fancy feast. I think I will try mixing in the science diet or Wellness until she gets used to it. I am new to this, I would hate to give her food that is not good for her.

Re: Brand of cat food
Thanks ladies, I think I am worrying to much over nothing. All day I tried giving her Natural Balance she was unhappy I broke out the Fancy Feast and she loved it. I will continue to give it to her, I rather her happy and content then hungry.
Thanks again!!
