Cerclage?
How many weeks can they do it til?
I put a call in to my OB yesterday to ask but he wasn't in. No one called me back which kinda pisssed me off. The tech at the perinatologist wasn't sure since they don't do them there. And I can't find info online. Is there a cutoff point?

Re: Cerclage?
i went into the hospital on bedrest at 24 weeks with my twins because I was 1 cm dilated and my cervix was extremely short and was told they couldn't do it. I don't know if it was too late bc I was dilated or bc of how far along I was.

Cerclage?
My perinatologist did it for me at 24.5 weeks. The risks of me not having the cervlage were much greater than if I didn't have it. Most OB's I believe won't do it past 21 weeks. Some will though.

Re: Cerclage?
Thanks. Does anyone know if there is a cutoff? My friend said they were going to do her sisters when she had 8 weeks to go which seems pretty far along. Her cer is ended up cooperating for a few more weeks and she was abou 37 weeks when she delivered. I cant find info on how late they so them. I know they do it early like in the 2nd tri but need to know what's the latest they do it so I know if it's an option for me. I'll call and harass the dr tomorrow but kinda want to know since I'm on bedrest and stressing over it now.

Cerclage?
As far as i know most doctors do it no later than 21 or 22 weeks. Some doctors will do it up to 24 weeks but that's it. 32 weeks seems pretty far along for them to go in and do a cerclage. If you were thinking about getting one as a preventative measure, then i would do it sooner rather than later. If you are already having cervix issues and are early enough, i would definitely do it now.
ETA: How far along are you?

Re: Cerclage?
Im 27 today. Good sam will only allow it to 24/26 weeks. My peri can do it til 28. Since my cervix went from 27 up to 34 in just 3 days they said its not incompetant and it was most likely related to over activity (I was doing A LOT the week before and I know it was too much). My OB doesnt want to hve the peri do it even now or 28 weeks since I responded so well and since there is a risk of my water breaking if they do it. They don't think Im at high enough risk for it to re-shorten to do the clerclage.
