Is Gracie a name?
Or is it just a nickname for Grace? I love the name gracie... but I think it's just a cutsie name for Grace?
Thoughts?
As you can tell, I still havent chosen a name lol!

Traditionally, it's a nickname for Grace, but if you love it as a name on its own, use it! Many popular first
names today originated as nicknames or even last names.

IMO it's a nickname for Grace. While it's super cute on a baby, a name is forever... and I don't know how a 40 year-old would feel about it, KWIM?
FWIW, my name is Rachel. No matter how old I get or what I do, my family always calls me Rachie.

FWIW, my name is Rachel. No matter how old I get or what I do, my family always calls me Rachie.

I looooove Graclyn! I love names that end in Lyn or Lynn!
You can definitely name the baby Grace and call her Gracie though. My friend (my age) is Grace and her husband calls her Gracie.

I agree with this. I'd stick with Grace (which I LOOOVE) and call her Gracie for short.

My name is Grace so my suggestion for what its worth is to name her Grace and just use Gracie as a nickname. When I was growing up everyone called me Gracie as a baby and toddler but then I went through a phase where I hated to be called Gracie because I wanted my 'big girl name' lol. Now some friends and family call me Gracie once in a while but I prefer to go by Grace professionally. I wouldn't want to have to use Gracie on resumes and stuff like that. Just my opinion though. Gracie could definitely be a first name if you want it to be!

My name is Grace, some people that are close to me call me Gracie. I personally like having the option to be Grace at work, but gracie with friends. My dad always called me Gracie, but my mom always called me Grace. that being said, do what you feel is right for you and your LO. Either way I love the name

You can name her Gracie and use Grace as the nickname or vice versa. Whatever you want! My daughter is Peyton Grace. I sometimes call her Gracie girl LOL I would have loved Grace as a first name but DH got to pick the first name.

ITA!!! my mom is Grace and there are like 2 people who call her Gracie and she hates it because its all like cute-sy and not a grown up's name.
My suggestionw ould be to name her Grace and call her Gracie. then as she grows older, she can shed the nickname if she wants to
