Cramping and Discomfort after an internal exam?
I had my 36 week appt today, where I was 1cm dilated. The Dr obviously did an internal exam, and now I'm crampy and am having some discomfort. Normal?

I'm not there yet, but I just took a childbirth class and the instructor warned us that may happen after internals. She said some spotting is normal too. Feel better!

Yes a little cramping is normal. I full-on bled after my 2nd internal and it totally freaked me out because I wasn't warned. It didn't last long, thankfully.
Who'd think a small little shove against the baby to feel the bounce-back could cause all that?
I was 1 cm at 36 weeks too! 2 cm at 37, 3 cm at 38, 3 cm and 75% at 39 and went into labor at 39+5. DD was born one day early. (My OB used to joke how he didn't know how I was still holding that baby in lol.) Good luck!!

Oh yeah, it's normal. My OB would give me "good exams" to maybe help things along, so I would really feel uncomfortable after exams! Soon girl, soon! Can't wait to meet her!

I had my first internal today and have been getting painful cramps too...and DS hasn't stopped moving all day so I'm hoping she shook him a little loose she said he is very low but i'm only a fingertip dilated
