Advice please
I have a pug who I really need help with. I am at my wits end. She is 4 years old and we just had a baby 5 months ago. Let me say that she has always been out of control since we got her. My husband and I differed a lot on how to train and I really think that was the biggest problem. We did training lessons with her and they did nothing. Since we have had the baby she is getting worse which I did anticipate but not this bad. She has started to urinate all over the houe. There is nothing wrong healthwise because she just went to the Dr. She is scratching at all my new cabinets in the kitchen which my husband is flipping out about. We have a huge yard which I take her out in and all she wants is back in the house. We have tried taking her for walks to release energy but she ends up chasing after the cars and pulling me so hard that I end up turning around. All she does is bark at the ceiling, bark to get into the house, etc!!! I need to know if there is a good trainer to take her to or has anyone medicated their dog?? I really am so upset about this. We always include her when playing with the baby and my daughter loves her. I want to be able to have my daughter play with her doggy when she gets older but I am so frustrated with her. I thought being a new mother was going to be hard but dealing with my dog is worse than anything. Please give me any advice to where I can bring my dog for training or what I can do to get her to start behaving
Edited to say she is very good with the baby and I WOULD NEVER rehome( unless she became violent which I don't think is the problem). She is here to stay but I just need help ASAP!!!

I'm pretty sure that I've heard a lot of people recommend Best Friends Dog Training on LI. I'm not 100% positive of that though...can anyone else back me up on that?

I have no advice on a trainer but I would hire someone to walk her for long periods of time. I think she needs to be exhausted so she can see that calm behavior can get her good attention.
Good luck with the training/her.

I wish she would walk far distances and be exhausted but she pants a lot especially in the heat and ends up lying down in the street! Thank you for the suggestion!!

My dog has tremendous anxiety. We walk a lot. About 5 miles a day to calm him down. I take him to dog parks too to help with this. Maybe because it's a little cooler you could take your LO out with the pup?

lol, my older guy will just decide to put the brakes on too. I don't know if if 's just how I interpret it but, I think he puts a look on his face that says: I don't know where you're going but I'm not unless you pick me up.
Would a treadmill work?
