Teen Mom 8/21
For the first time, I can honestly say that I side with RYAN!
I get where Maci was coming from, trying to get Ryan and Dallas (and Ryan's parents) to Bently's party but she should have called him herself and explained and invited him. She put Ryan on the spot by having Bently call and he never told Bently he would definately be there.
Although I think they all should have sucked it up and should have gone, I understand their frustration especially when Ryan and Maci agreed to have seperate parties.
Amber - more of the same. She is dumb to let Gary have full custody but it is better for Leah. No parent should ever sign over their rights unless they are totaly unfit (well, maybe Amber is totally unfit).
Farrah - what did she expect? And how did she not even cry leaving Sophia   She didn't know how to act.
More of the same from Catelyn and Tyler. Boring.

I agree with Ryan saying she should have not let Bentley call she should have called. I do not agree with the way he speaks to her right in front of Bentley. I think he is mean and puts on a show for his girlfriend. His girlfriend said something at the end of the conversation and I think she should not have said a word. Maci was right wanting to speak to him away from the car so Bentley did not hear the conversation. They should have sucked it up and went. The grandparents told him they would come and then did not show. Bentley is such a great kid.
Amber is always on something. I wonder if this was the period of time she was getting drug tested every day. She is a mess and should give up her rights. She gets mad very easily. Her mom was right by just walking away from her.
Catelyn and Tyler are boring but they are good kids. It was nice of them to set up a meeting with the adoption lady.
Farrah annoys me. Her mother and that baby talk annoy me more. I have no idea how she didnt sob leaving her baby for a month. I would have been a mess.

I think Maci is playing games and she's become increasingly annoying and really showing her true feelings - she has a lot of unresolved feelings towards Ryan and I think she is still in love with him. She tries to manipulate by using Bentley and that's wrong. They had both agreed to do separate parties, so why renege on that suddenly? Everyone should've just sucked it up and stop messing around.
Amber is a hot mess and we all know it and she knows it and Gary knows it. The only healthy thing for her to do when it comes to Leah IS give up her rights to her - she cannot take care of her much less take care of herself. I think she uses Leah as a way to boost her own self-esteem and only wants her when it's convenient for her.
Catelyn and Tyler are boring.
Farrah is annoying. I DO hate her mom's baby talk to Sophia. Farrah loves Sophia but wants to be young and carefree and unattached.

I love Catelyn and Tyler. A little boring, but, I love them.
Farrah and that baby talk. Uuggh Cannot stand it! How she didn't sob like a baby letting Sophia leave is beyond me. I definitley would have lost it.
Gary & Amber. Uuggh. I wish I could just adopt Leah and get her out of that whole mess.
Maci. I've liked her all along, but, Ryan did say "I'll see what I can do buddy". He never made any promises and Maci should've told Ryan a lot sooner that she was planning something.
They definitley should not have spoke in front of Bently OR Dalis. That was just wrong.

I would not think anything of this. He is his father and those are his grandparents. It seemed obvious from the episode that they didn't have plans, they were sitting around complaining that Bentley asked them. They couldn't have come for,the last hour or 30 minutes? It's just spiteful and they are just hurting the kid! I don't care what my parents or Inaws had to do if I called the day before to tell them we were having a bday party for DS they would be there!!!
I also was  That Farrah didn't cry!!!

I agree also. I actually think maci tries to be acomodating to Ryan and do the best she can for her son. She seems like such a sad girl. I feel bad for her and I think she is a great Mom.

I disagree, earlier in the episode you can see Maci suggesting to Bentley who he wanted to invite. She mentioned his dad and grandparents. Obviously the kid is going to go along with that idea. I think she is a great mom but this episode showed that she has quite a bit a maturing to do. They had already agreed to have separate celebrations so you don't put your 2 yr old on the phone and make him invite his father and grandparents and put them on the spot. She should have talked to them first and let them know what she was planning on doing. She was clearly shoving her kid in the middle of this. Not sure if this is because she has unresolved feelings for Ryan or because she can't let go of the idea that they should all be one big happy family.
On the other hand Ryan does not know how to talk to her properly so I'm not exactly siding with him either. But I guess this level of maturity is what happens when you become teen parents.

I dont agree because Ryan specifically asked her beforehand what the birthday plans were. He even offered to share the day with her, and she said no, we'll do separate parties. Maci should have called Ryan herself to see of they were interested. I really don't blame Ryan for not wanting to hang around with maci and her family either. This is a fact of life with children whose parents aren't together, they do separate parties. It was normal for me growing up and I don't think my father would be caught dead hanging around with my mom at one of our birthday parties
I also was surprised Farrah didn't cry.
I love Tyler and catelynn they are so mature but the story is getting so boring to me lol
Amber makes me sick, just sick. She can't let go of her anger I just don't understand. I think she and Gary need to be completely separate lives. They have too much anger towards each other and Gary is the only mature one here. They need to have no contact with one another other than pick up/drop off or a phone call to discuss something important. She gets way too wrapped up in him and what he's doing. Poor Leah

I've thought that for a long time. It's not just from that one tweet but from several things - it's the way she acts around him and how involved she seems to be in his personal life and how she oftentimes is incredibly judgmental and nosy of who he is going out with and comparing herself to them.

I just dont think Maci thought it through when she did what she did. I DONT think Ryan should have spoken to her that way. I think the grandparents, who already said yes before they knew weather ryan was going or not should have gone. I think Dalis should know her role and keep her mouth shut. I do hope that if ryan does try to get joint custody, she is allowed to bring in tapes of these episodes in for evidence on her side. Who calls their son's mother stupid in front of their kid??? He's worthless. What does he do with Bentley once he has him? Um, nothing, his parents take care of him. I think Maci does have a sadness about her, but I cant say I blame her. Life is a little harder since she became a mom at 16 and it must be rough sharing her kid with a man who is unreliable and manipulative as Ryan.
The only thing that really stood out to me w/ Farrah was the last few seconds of the episode when it looks like Farrahs mom is putting Sophia in a REAR FACING CAR SEAT IN THE FRONT PASSANGER SEAT, looking completely inclined too. I dont get the car seat thing with these people. Read a manual...go online. There is no excuse not to know better.
Amber is a mess, but I do think giving full custody to Gary is necessary. I dont think Leah constantly saying goodbye to mommy is all that healthy for her either. There needs to be a smoother transition. Even if it means that Leah can spend the night or Amber could leave once Leah is asleep.
Ty and Catelynn are good. I dont get the grandparents expectation of seeing carlie, though I dont know much about open adoptions. I would expect that they wouldnt see them. IDK.

ITA with above comments in regards to how Maci handeled that situation. I don't agree with Ryan bringing Dalis along to pick up Bentley, especially when she made her little "good!" comment when they were wrapping it up. Not productive at all.
As for Amber, I really do think Gary is so controlling that he really brainwashed her into giving up her rights as Leah's mother and awarding him sole custody. He most certainly uses his daughter as a way to get back at Amber & it's disgusting. At the end of the day he would've been granted full custody since Amber chose to serve 5 years in prison vs 2 years of probation. Which as a mother I will never understand ever leaving your child behind for any extended amount of time.

I feel so bad for Leah. That poor girl never asked to be entered into dysfunction. I hope she has a story like Tyler and Caitlyn where even though she had f'd up parents she turns out to be a productive member of society.

Me too!!! EVERY time I watch my heart literally breaks for Leah. BOTH parents are a mess, nobody has this child's best interest at heart, she is just shuffled around and has to be subjected to endless cursing, screaming, and fighting around her. It's just so, so sad. That poor child isn't going to stand a chance in this world with those two as parents and "role models". Scary and sad.
Farrah.............I can barely watch. That girl is a train wreck on SO many levels. I couldn't believe how easy it was for her to drop her DD off at the airport and walk away. I hate leaving my DD for a minute, if I was letting her go for a month OMG!!!!..........I would have been a hysterical, blubbering mess. Farrah was like, "ok, bye". And leaves. I think she is not only a terrible mother but the MOST selfish, self involved person I've even seen. She's pathetic.
Tyler and Caitlynn...........as everyone said, boring. Get over your loser Dad, go to school, move on with your life.
Maci.........I think for the most part she means well with her son but she's young still and sometimes make silly decisions without thinking them through first. I think in the end though she does love her son immensely and tries hard to make him happy. Can't fault her there.
