You should give it a try! It's not TOO hard. I mean I only know a few basic stitches, but enough to make a blanket and a shawl and feel proud of them both!
Personally, I jump from hobby to hobby. I like to be a jack of all trades, a master of none.  I've taken Irish step dancing, horse back riding, salsa classes, hip hop classes, photography, baking, cake decorating, crocheting, and everything in between. I just like to try things! Baking and photography (very amateur) are the ones that have stuck around though.
ETA: And I loooooooove to read. I spend more of my time doing that than anything.
