a little update from "the farm"
I haven't posted any updates in ages and I don't know if everyone knows the history but I have a small flock of backyard chickens. My girls are 6.5 years old now which is incrediably old for domestic chickens.
Here's a little background
The stories from the farm
We started out with 8 chickens and had as many as 12 for a very short time. Now we only have 4 of our original old ladies. Our coop was built to house a larger flock and since our chicken adventure will be over when the last for girls are gone we decided to build them a "retirement home"
Tonight is their first night sleeping in the new house, its going to take them a while to get comfortable with it. Sunny and Marguerite have both been broody(trying to become mothers) for a few weeks so they are extra cranky.
We found someone to take our old, large coop so it won't go to waste.
