Can someone help me with the VA home loan
When we decided to start looking into buying, I went online to VA home loans and started browsing. I ended up calling Veteran's United and speaking with a VA mortgage specialist. I was under the impression that I needed to us Veteran's United. I read a previous post that said you can shop around? I finished the approval process and have my letter. Should I be looking around? I have no experience and I am starting to feel like I am not understanding the VA loan process. TIA

Re: Can someone help me with the VA home loan
You can use any VA approved lender for a VA loan, so you can definitely shop around. A good loan officer will take the time to sit with you and counsel you on that type of loan and the steps in the process. It's best to have your lender selected before you put an offer on a house, but many people continue shopping and will switch lenders even after they've actually applied for a loan with another lender.
Let me know if you would like recommendations re: lenders/loan officers.
Also, feel free to contact me via FM or directly ([email protected] or (516) 587-7618) with any questions about the buying process in general or for help with your home search. I've successfully assisted many LIF'ers to buy and sell their homes!
