Robatussin dm for a cold?
Everything I read says the dm which is expectorant only is ok while pregnant. But the back of the bottle says consult dr if pregnant. (I feel like everything except tylenol says this). I don't want to call the dr emergency line because it's not an emergency per say but I can't breathe at night and I need to start taking it now so it goes away or it will get worse. If I wait til tues to call it will be worse. Has anyone asked and your dr said it's ok?

Robatussin dm for a cold?
My doctor said it wasn't, but I've heard others have gotten a different answer. You have to be careful with your blood pressure too and some of the robitussins are not good for that. Congestion during pregnancy is the absolute worst.  Saline drops do nothing for me (I miss my afrin!!!) and the breathe right strips hurt more than help.
Maybe someone else will have a better answer. Feel better!

I was told by my doctor and pharmacist that it must be alcohol free, thats it.

It depends on how miserable you are. It's a long weekend so it will mean waiting until Tuesday otherwise. I wouldn't take it without checking with someone you trust. If you're ok with riding it out, wait. But that's coming from someone who was told no decongestants besides benadryl or claratin and only cough drops for a cold. Tylenol for a sore throat though.

Ask the pharmacist for the PLAIN robitussin, it's not as easy to find...

OK so DH got the DM thats alcohol free and the pharmacist said its ok to use while pregnant. So I took it once. Ill take it before bed too.
