the pains/aches of carrying twins..is it normal?

let me preface this by saying i am freaked out bc i have a friend who delivered her twins at 25 weeks...they r doing amazing but i always kept it in the back of my mind

this weekend my bff friend had her twins at 25 weeks...and the sil of a friend of mine had her baby boy at 26 weeks(they were triplets at one point through ivf but she lost 2 early on)

i am now terrified of going early...i know i cannot control what happens

i am 27 weeks 2 days and now when i feel a pain i expect the worst

i just started having pressure in my lady parts area and i thought it was normal growing pains but again now i am freaked out

i have pain in my ribs 24/7 and it is hard to breathe but that is where both heads are

idk what the point of this is...i guess i am asking are the pains and aches ok? is there a sign of going early?

sorry so longChat Icon

Re: the pains/aches of carrying twins..is it normal?

I was paranoid til 12 weeks. Then again til 20. Then at 26 when my cervix shortened and it hasn't ended. I get incredible vag and pelvic bone pain if baby b is low and she puts too much pressure on. And A is already laying on my bladder and cervix.

I went to the dr and he said it's normal and to take Tylenol. I'm like umm. I feel like baby Renesme is inside me breaking my bones and this is all ok!? Apparently it is. And even my cervix shortening is normal since my babies are over 7 lbs and I'm 31 weeks and it's 27 and will shorten with time and pressure from them. I'm ok for the past few days since baby b moved up but I know how it is to think the worst when you are feeling all this pain and pressure. I'm sure I'll be freaking out again in a few days when she is down again.

I freak when they don't move much. Then sun they were going nuts and I was worried they were going nuts because something was wrong. Lol. We can't win. We will just be paranoid since we are high risk.

It helps me to count down the weeks as milestones. 28 weeks is crucial. Then 34. Then 36.

I think uterine / rib pain & pressure are all normal.

Pressure in lady parts, I don't know?
How's your cervical length?

I had a nurse ask me: does it feel like babies falling out?
I've used that as a guide as to when to really worry but that could be wrong.

I feel worried every day, but honestly I just read my book and tell myself the straining/stretching feeling is normal. my thigh muscles hurt sometimes, and I feel more "expansion" in the belly. I can tell from my clothes. I think it's normal, but because of what we've heard and been through, we worry more for sure. Chat Icon

I feel the same exact way! Not sure what's normal and what's not. I do kno that with my first singleton pregnancy I didn't have half of the aches and pains or pressure. Every week I'm just like "okay i can do this..another week they are in!!!" I will be 27 weeks on Saturday

I feel the same way...I don't have constant pain way down there but every once in a while i get a twinge of pain and i just think its from everything stretching out....pain in my back and sides i get a lot though, I find the support belt sometimes helps, other times there's just nothing that can make me feel better...but every day they are in makes me happy! Good luck to all your friends, I will keep their babies in my prayers. And good luck to you as well, when in doubt call MD!

I had another checkup today and i asked him if it's normal that after sitting for awhile, I stand up and have sharp groin pains. He said it's normal- tendons are being pushed to the limit. Chat Icon
