Crashing from the pregnancy boards - Q about turning a breech baby

I'm 36 weeks and my baby is breech. Have any of you had success with getting a breech baby to turn this late in your pregnancy, and if so, did you do anything specific to help your baby turn or did he or she turn naturally?

Ds wasn't breech but I was so nervous he was going to turn last minute that I researched techniques and found this website. Spinningbabies.com I can't attest to anything on it but I'm sure it's worth a shot to try. Good luck!

Re: Crashing from the pregnancy boards - Q about turning a breech bany

My baby was breech and I only got to try one "home" remedy that was unsuccessful. We did a cold can of soda at the top of my belly and heat at the bottom to draw the baby to the heat.

6 hrs later my water broke. Chat Icon There wasn't enough fluid to do an external version.

There's always the chance that the baby will flip back so I wouldn't try an external version right away. From what I hear, it's very painful.

I tried the lights, yoga, music, cold on my belly to turn my breech DS.... Nothing worked. My doc does not recommend versions. So Iheaded up having a CS. He was frank breech- feet by his head, so they said there was no way he could've turned once he got stuck in that position. I'm sorry you're faced with this and I hope your LO turns!

Re: Crashing from the pregnancy boards - Q about turning a breech bany

DD was breech and at 37 weeks did external version which hurt like hell and we unsuccessful. I had had a V birth 19 months earlier so they thought the version would work but didn't. The following week I went for acupuncture and moxibustion and she flipped. Scary thing is I never even felt her flip. When I went for the sono to check position I was shocked. I delivered her vaginally two weeks later. When she was born she was totally tangled in her cord. It was wrapped all over her body so that's probably why she didn't go head down without help. If you're in suffolk I can give you my acupuncturists info. She's amazing! Good luck! Also maybe try the exercises on the spinning babies website. Some Have success with them.

Yes, I saw a chiro that specializes in the Webster Technique. My DS turned I think around 37 weeks.

Crashing from the pregnancy boards - Q about turning a breech bany

My baby turned breech at 39+ weeks... I did 1 session of moxibustion/accupuncture, and also did a chiropractic treatment (not webster) the same day. The next day, I had the external version, which was successful, TG. A few days later, I had a natural delivery Chat Icon. The version was not as painful as people say-- the doc monitored him on US while the midwife pushed (hard). She was sweating, she was working so hard. It hurt, but like I said, not that much, and WAY less than having a c/s (I assume, as I have never had one). FM if you want more info, or the acc/chiro's name/number. GL!

I tried a chiropractor & accupuncturist - no good. Had version around 37 weeks and was successful. Took only about 2 minutes and didn't hurt at all.

Good Luck!

Re: Crashing from the pregnancy boards - Q about turning a breech bany

Tried putting music near my belly, putting my hands on the floor with my feet on the couch (not easy to do 37 weeks pregnant) and a version....none worked.

I happily had a C-Section at 39 weeks with no labor pains at all and DS was perfectly healthy!

Dr Glassman in Great Neck is an amazing chiropractor that specializes in the webster technique. He succcessfully turned by DS at 34 weeks. If your insurance doesn't cover him, he works with you. Really nice guy.

Hi,

I am not sure if you heard of the Webster Technique, but here is some more info about it. I practice in Great Neck. Also, I can always try to find you someone closer if need be.

My son turned himself. I didn't try to fix it. At 36 weeks, you still have time for your baby to turn Chat Icon My dr. wasn't concerned (DS was breech at 36 weeks too), so I didn't worry.

Re: Crashing from the pregnancy boards - Q about turning a breech baby

Yes. I did cat stretches and put headphones around my lower belly/pelvic area. Supposibly the baby is suppose to turn to the music.

Not sure how effective it is but something worked for me because DS turned.

Re: Crashing from the pregnancy boards - Q about turning a breech baby

Try a chiropractor. Many insurance companies cover the visit. Look for someone certified in the Webster Technique. I see Dr Larain Valenti in Bethpage and she's amazing.
