Litterally Bouncing off the Walls - ADD?

DS has very poor attending. This is the main reason we put him in a small self contained class. However, since he started school, he has literally been bouncing off the walls when he gets home. Running. Room to Room. Wont (cant?) sit still. Cant focus on even a Peppa Pig episode. I think a lot of it is sensory, however, I can't help but begin to wonder about ADD or ADHD. I know he is way too young for that kind of evaluation but is there anything (aside from meds) that I can try now?

We went to Family Fun Night at his school today and it was far from fun. It appeared that my child was the only one that could not control himself. He was literally bouncing from one thing to the next. Throwing the balls int he woods. Ripping the plastic down from the fun house. Smearing the bubbles from the bubble machine all over. Dumping every bead on the table...like a mini tornado...in succession...within a matter of five minutes. Meanwhile we were at a special school and it appeared that I had the only SN child there...ugh. A little insight please?

ETS. I know it is early, as he just started school, but how can he possibly learn like this? He is in an 8:2:1. What can the school do? WOuld they recommend a SEIT? I dont want him to get "lost" but how can they constantly redirect him every second with other kids in the class? I'm having a bad nightChat Icon

Ask his teachers how he is doing in school. DD attends very well in school, sits nicely, raises hand to ask questions but once she gets home...Holy Tornado. She literally does not sit still for 2 seconds. She even eats standing up. I think she is so focused on doing good at school that she is bouncing off the walls when she is home.

We have noticed similar stuff with DS.

Granted he's only been in school for 2 weeks, so this could be the "honeymoon period", however, I have a similar line of thinking to the above poster.

I think these kids often know how to hold it together, but then have the melt-down once they leave that strict enviroment.
