Re: Mom stays in the picture
That was great! I was telling DH recenlty that since DD was born we only have pictures of her. Hardly any of us. I am always behind the camera snapping. I feel like if I were to die tomorrow, DD would have barely any pictures of me- especially ones with her in them. I need to defniitely try harder to get in the shots!
And by the way- the author who avoids the camera because of how bad she thinks she looks- I thought she was very pretty and looked great in thos pics! Goes to show we are our own harshest critics!

I thought the same thing! What a pretty girl!
But its true, we all focus on taking pictures of our kids, we need to get pictures with our kids.

Mom stays in the picture
I saw this on FB yesterday and it has opened my eyes!
Since DS was born 2 years ago, I probably have less then 10 photos of him and I together. Why? Because I hate the way I look and judge myself in all the pics. I end up erasing them and always tell others to make sure 'I'm not in the pic' if they want to take one of just DS.
This made me realize how ridiuclous I am being and how many shots I have missed out on. I think we have 1 family shot that I kept because I tolerated the way I looked in it. 1! just one family shot since DS was born.
No more! Like the article said, when my DS looks back on these pictures, he isn't going to see the imperfections I see. He is going to see the woman who cuddled him, and covered him in kisses, and made his boo-boo's all better, and tickled him and said she loved him past forver!
I don't want to leave him with so few pictures. My Dad died when I was 10, I don't have a lot of pictures of us together, because he was always taking them. Plus, its been close to 30 years since he died, and while I have a vision of how I remember him, sometimes that vision gets blurred. I look at his picture to getit clear again.
I am also going to start taking pictures of me and my mom together. We both complain about how we turn out in pictures. but tomorrow is never guaranteed and I don't want to forget the woman that did all of the above for me when I was DS's age.

Mom stays in the picture
I love this, it really resonates with me. To this day, my mom will refuse to be in pictures because she's self-conscious. And as a result, I'm very hesitant to get my picture taken. But I'm really trying to force myself to get over it because I don't want DS to look back and only see pics of him and daddy.
And I agree, the girl in the pics looks very pretty!

Mom stays in the picture
This made me tear up and it's so true. Even on days when I think I'm looking photo-worthy I am still hardly in them becuase I'm always taking them. I've always been into photography, I know how to work the camera so it's just how it goes. We have tons of great shots of DD with DH but barely any with me in them. If I do remember and take the time to ask DH to take a shot of me and DD it's never a good one either lol. He's not great with cameras.

Thank you for sharing. I posted it to my husband's fb wall in hopes that he realizes he's allowed to use our camera too.
