Lead in Prenatal Vitamins & many other vitamins!
Im not pregnant yet but hope to be soon and started taking prenatals. I was taking Natures Way prenatals but was getting sick no matter when I took them. I did some research on prenatals and came across the study FDA did. I cnt believe things like prenatals have lead! I switched to a holistic company that makes multivit which have NO crap like lead. But they only have 400mg of folate per serving which is fine for now but I have no clue what Im going to do when Im actually preg!
This is the FDA study

unfortunately the FDA doesn't do the best job when it comes to regulating vitamins and alot of other things they allow into our food!!! I started taking prenatals from Thorne Research, it's called "basic prenatal" and they use very natural ingredients, including folate in it's broken down form (I now know I can't process synthetic forms of folate i.e. folic acid!). Which prenatal are you taking now?

Thanks for the info! I will look up the brand you take. I take Vita Lea by Shaklee. Posted by HelenZ

okay! I think you can get them on Amazon for about the same price as buying from Thorne directly. You need a physician code to buy on Thorne's site, let me know if you need it, and I'll give the one my doc gave me! :)
