The passage?

It's not really scary, but it's really good!! I highly recommend it. The vampires are sort of like animals in it... I have a pretty low threshold for scary stuff, and it didn't scare me, although there are parts of it that are intense and/or creepy. He spends a LOT of time building the background, introducing you to people, to the point that you are like, "When is this book going to START?!" But then it does and it's amazing. He does something very odd towards the middle... But it works. I've been waiting years for the sequel to come out, and I'm so excited that it comes out tomorrow.

Completely agree. It was a little difficult getting into at first. Then it seemed to drag for a bit...but it definitely picked up.

I can't wait to read the second book.

Re: The passage?

I read it when it first came out and I love it but hate it. I found it to be entirely too long and too many characters and a lot of storylines randomly placed in. I know that it is supposed to be a trilogy, but I felt that there was too much at one time and it took an extremely long time to pick up that I almost gave up on it.
